What are Homogenous Tiles?

Homogenous tiles are one of the sturdiest floor tiles in Singapore. The use of these tiles has grown at a rapid pace and has grown to replace ceramic tiles and now is most commonly used as house tiles or even in commercial areas. These tiles are made of a mix of clay and tiling material that are subjected to very high temperatures of over 1500 degrees centigrade. As the name suggests these tiles are made of the same material throughout the tile so if by chance the tile is chipped or broken you will find that it is the same color on the inside as well.

There are a few reasons why homogenous tiles have become a go-to choice for many people.

  • They are designed for heavy foot traffic.
due to its high durability, this type of tile is a good choice for areas that have a lot of people coming through. Another why is because they are unlikely to warp over years of use and do not need to be changed often. These tiles can be seen in commercial areas such as cafeterias, outdoor areas, living rooms and other such areas.
  • Very high quality
the water absorption of these tiles is very low than that of other types of tiles. This makes the homogenous tiles a good choice for areas like the kitchen, bathroom, and showers. The smaller tiles can be used for the toilets and bathrooms to direct water to the drain and bigger tiles are used in other areas.
  • Low maintenance
these tiles are known for being very low maintenance and also the cost of installation is lower as compared to other low-maintenance tiles such as granite and marble. Once these tiles are installed all you have to do to keep them looking as good as new is wipe or wash off any moisture or dirt.
  • Large variety
these tiles come in a wide variety of colors and designs that can fit any type of theme that you choose for your home or whichever area the tiles have to be installed in. If you like the look of stone but do not want to spend as much on the installation of these tiles homogenous is the perfect solution as tiles that look like stone are available and can be used instead. These tiles bring a blend of feel and aesthetics to the room in which they are installed.
